Roaming with giffgaff
EU zone
Your plan’s calls and texts allowance can be used in the EU and selected destinations (we call this the EU zone) just like at home and at no extra cost.
There’s a fair use limit on data of 5GB. If you go over it’ll cost 10p/MB. If you need more data you can buy a travel data add-on (more info below), or start a new plan early which will give you another 5GB allowance.
Paying as you go with credit instead? Data, calls and texts are charged at our pay as you go UK rates while you roam in these countries. Result.
Rest of the world
If you’re travelling outside the EU and selected destinations (EU zone) there are different charges for calls, texts and data depending on the country.

Inclusive roaming is created for giffgaff members who typically reside in the UK, and is ideal for short trips to EU countries and selected destinations.
The vast majority of our members will be eligible without needing to do anything extra, but if you don’t meet the necessary criteria, or go against our fair usage guidelines, then inclusive roaming may be switched off. You’ll still be able to use your phone in the EU and selected destinations if you have credit, but you'll be charged 3.2p/minute, 1p/text, 10p/MB. If you don’t meet the criteria or go against our fair usage guidelines and have a plan but no credit, you won’t be able to use our service in the EU and selected destinations.
To make things easy, we automatically turn on EU and selected destinations roaming when you buy a plan. However, if we can’t see any recent UK usage, we’ll send you an email and SMS asking for proof of residency in the UK. You must give this to us within 14 days, to ensure you remain eligible and your inclusive roaming stays turned on. You can submit various documents as proof of UK residency. Find out more.
If you fail to submit such evidence, you’ll receive an email advising you of your impending ineligibility for inclusive roaming and an SMS shortly thereafter confirming your inclusive roaming has been switched off. If you submit the required bits at a later stage, (or if we see evidence of UK usage) your inclusive roaming will be turned on again.
