Hello and welcome to our rundown of the best Galaxy A5 (2017) cases and accessories. Even if you don’t own a Galaxy A5, check out the accessory recommendations, as they’ll suit most Android phones!

Part 1: Top 5 Galaxy A5 (2017) cases

1. Hansmare Calf Wallet Case - £20

Hansmare Calf Wallet Case

First up is this gorgeous calf-skin wallet, made from sleek leather for hard-wearing protection. There are slots for your cash and cards, and even an integrated viewing stand which is brilliant for watching videos on buses, trains and aeroplanes. (The photo above depicts the Galaxy Note version, but the linked product is for the Galaxy A5.)

2. Olixar ArmourDillo Tough Case - £10

Olixar ArmourDillo Tough Case

The ArmourDillo is a hugely protective case for the Galaxy A5. The case includes a ridged exoskeleton on the rear, which adds tons of grip and helps protect the phone inside from knocks and falls. A lip around the screen helps prevent damage there, too. This case is thicker than most others on this list, but the gains in protection make it a worthwhile investment. There’s even a viewing stand built into the back. This case is pretty inexpensive too, at just £10.

3. Samsung Neon Flip Wallet - £25

Samsung Neon Flip Wallet

This official wallet case from Samsung is surprisingly unique, thanks to a neon LED light embedded in a ring around the case. This lights up when you receive a call, message or other notification, ensuring you never miss a beat. It looks pretty cool, too. There are a bunch of different case colours available, including black, blue, pink and the gold shade shown above. If you want an eye-catching case, this is a great choice.

4. Rearth Ringke Fusion Case - £15

Rearth Ringke Fusion Case

This slim, inexpensive case does well to protect your Galaxy A5 without adding significant bulk or changing the look of your phone. The smoke black exterior gives your phone a modern look, while the hybrid-material design ensures excellent drop and scratch protection in a small space. The Ringke Fusion is a good all-around case at a fair price.

5. Samsung Clear View Cover - £45

Samsung Clear View Cover

This official case is Samsung’s premium offering for the Galaxy A5, costing nearly fifty pounds. However, you get a lot for your money – most importantly, a transparent front cover that allows you to see notifications and use your phone without exposing it to scratches or other damage. This is the ideal version of a flip case, providing excellent protection without adding too much bulk or making it annoying to quickly use your phone. The look is outstanding too, with a range of colours to choose from and a perfect fit and finish. Of all the cases on this list, this is the one that I’d be springing for.

Part 2: Top 5 Galaxy A5 (2017) accessories

6. Huawei Quick Charge 2.0 Power Bank 10,000mAh - £60

Huawei Quick Charge 2.0 Power Bank 10,000mAh

This power bank looks cool, with a textured design that makes it harder to drop. It’s also Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 compatible, meaning your phone will charge extremely rapidly – as fast as the fastest mains adapters. The 10,000mAh capacity is also impressive, and should guarantee about three full recharges before the power bank needs to be topped up itself.

7. Kingston Class 10 Micro SD Card 64GB - £28

Kingston Class 10 Micro SD Card 64GB

This Micro SD card is nothing special, but it’ll certainly do the job. Class 10 speeds allow it to be used for recording videos and photos directly, while 64GB of capacity ensures you won’t have to be constantly deleting things after you’ve run out of space. Kingston is a good brand, but feel free to shop around for cheaper alternatives; as long as they have the same specs, they should be fine.

8. Olixar Multi-length USB-C Pack - £25

 Olixar Multi-length USB-C Pack

This useful four-pack of USB-C cables provides everything you need to get settled in with the new charging plug on your Galaxy A5. There’s a little one that you can use with a power bank, and a long one that you can use to charge your phone while still using it. Then you’ve got two medium-sized cables, perfect for stashing at work or in your car so you always have access to a charging cable.

9. Emie Canvas Portable Bluetooth Speaker - £30

Emie Canvas Portable Bluetooth Speaker

This Bluetooth Speaker does all the normal Bluetooth speaker things. It connects to your phone wirelessly, plays music or calls, and has a 3.5mm jack to let you connect older devices. A 520mAh battery gives you six hours of playback time, and the small size makes it super portable. You can find these specifications anywhere, but the look of this speaker is what really appeals to me; the canvas gives this speaker a unique style and class.

10. LG Watch Sport Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch - £350

LG Watch Sport Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch

OK, this one is a little weird but hear me out. The LG Watch Sport is the first properly good Android Wear watch, courtesy of the 2.0 upgrade. It includes everything you could ever want in a smartwatch: GPS for run tracking, LTE for complete independence from your phone, and NFC so you can pay for things using Android Pay. It has a hefty battery too, allowing it to be used for a couple of days before needing to be recharging. It is expensive for sure, but you could be using this watch for years, even after you’ve upgraded from the Galaxy A5!
