Three budget smartphones that have gone unnoticed
3 minute read
With so many fantastic smartphones getting released every year, it’s very easy for some very worthy models falling under the radar.
Considering the likes of Apple launching three smartphones in 2017 instead of just two, it’s easy to see how some brands and models don’t manage to make it into the spotlight. However, that’s not to say they are undeserving.
Today, we take a look at some of these unsung heroes of recent times. Here are three budget smartphones which have gone largely unnoticed.
Sony Xperia XZ1

One of the only phones on the market which has Android 8.0 Oreo already installed, this flagship device is most definitely an underrated release from Sony.
The [Xperia XZ1] (https://www.giffgaff.com/mobile-phones/sony/sony-xperia-xz1/phone-details) has a rear-facing 19 MP camera, which really sets it aside from many of its contemporaries. Not only that, it has a 3D Creator app, giving you the means to generate 3D scans of faces and objects. These images can then be printed out on a 3D printer, shared on social media or even used as an avatar.
The Xperia XZ1 has support for a range of audio codecs, as well as support for Bluetooth 5 wireless connections, making it a great device for music lovers.
Nokia 6

Nokia’s first Android phones were released by HMD Global and they have certainly managed to live up to the iconic phone brand’s name.
The Nokia 8 somewhat overshadowed the Nokia 6, but that doesn’t mean the Nokia 6 is unworthy. This smartphone offers a great experience for a low price. Incorporating an all-aluminium design, it has a 5.5-inch screen with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution display and 3GB of RAM.
32GB of storage means it is very capacious and the 16 MP camera makes it a hit with photographers. The 8MP front-facing camera is also a perk for those who love to snap selfies.
Moto Z2 Play

The Moto Z2 Play is another smartphone which has amazing camera features, including the ability to take a 360-degree image, thanks to the Moto Mods. These mods also let you blast out your favourite tunes without requiring an external Bluetooth speaker, making it a dream for music lovers. If you are searching for a phone with a long-lasting battery, look no further than the Moto Z2 Play. This 3,000 mAh battery can provide over a day’s worth of charge, which is a great deal more than many of today’s smartphones. It also gives you the means to equip it with a battery pack for even longer-lasting life.
It has an enormous 64 GB’s worth of storage, as well as 4GB of RAM.
