Top 10 iPhone Xs cases and accessories
5 minute read
The iPhone Xs is a special, good-looking phone that demands careful treatment. Make the best of your new phone - and keep it safe too - with our specially selected cases and accessories. Let’s get into the recommendations right away!
Part 1: Top 5 iPhone Xs cases
1. Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case - £9

We begin with the Ultra Hybrid case from Spigen. The reason I love this case is that it offers all of the features you’d want - reasonable protection, a lightweight design and a stylish look - at a very low price, at less than £10. That makes it a great default choice for anyone that doesn’t have strong feelings about cases, or who wants to show off the iPhone Xs through this case’s clear skin. However, you can get cases that are more interesting, have more features or offer better protection if you spend more, so let’s take a look at some examples.
2. OtterBox Statement Series Case - £30

The OtterBox Statement case is one of two OtterBox cases available for the iPhone Xs exclusively via Apple’s own stores, including both online and brick-and-mortar varieties. The case itself lives up to its name, providing a gorgeous two-tone look that displays the Apple logo and iPhone wordmark in all of their glory, while capping the bottom of the phone with a leather accent. It’s a surprisingly effective look which goes well with this case’s strong record of survival, courtesy of a raised protective bumper. All in all, a strong option at the £30 mark.
3. Apple iPhone XS Leather Case - £55

Another case available at Apple’s website or in their stores is their own Leather Case, which is available in some new colours for the iPhone Xs - including the Peony Pink shade shown above. No matter which shade you choose, eye-catching or traditionally neutral, you’re left with a well-protected case that will wear naturally over time - nice one.
4. UAG Metropolis Rugged Wallet Case - £35

If protection is more important to you, then the UAG Metropolis may be right up your street. This thick case provides excellent protection thanks to its multi-layer design, and even exceeds military standards for drop and shock resistance. The case also looks cool, with a rugged design that sports a fine honeycomb texture in multiple colours.
5. Olixar Carbon Fibre Case - £13

We conclude with this basic but effective case from Olixar, the simply-titled Carbon Fibre Case. This case adds minimal weight and bulk to your phone, while cloaking it in the modern appearance of carbon fibre. Thanks to its reasonable protection, strong looks and low price point, the Carbon Fibre Case is an easy recommendation to make.

6. Choetech Fast Wireless Car Charger - £23

This car mount includes fast wireless charging, making it the perfect choice for the iPhone Xs and its brethren. The mount will hold your phone securely even over rough terrain, while the wireless charger will begin charging your phone as soon as it’s in position - no need to plug in a charging cable every time you want a top-up.
7. iNassen 3.5mm Headphone Adapter - £4

Here’s another essential: this simple adapter converts the Lighting port of the iPhone Xs into a 3.5mm audio jack that you can plug your favourite pair of headphones into. It also works for other purposes, like connecting your iPhone Xs to you car stereo’s aux input or hooking up to a hi-fi system. Apple used to include this in the box for free, but at least this adapter is cheap to buy.
8. Anker iPhone Xs Tempered Glass Screen Protector - £7

This pair of tempered glass screen protectors add some much-needed screen protection to your iPhone Xs, and are a near-essential purchase if you’re not going to use a case with your shiny new Apple smartphone - and even if you decide to use a case, getting a screen protector wouldn’t hurt! Tempered glass is a little pricier than plastic film alternatives, but it’s easier to install, survives longer and feels better under the finger.
9. Iceworks 5000mAh Portable Charger with Lightning - £22

There are tons of portable chargers on the market, but not all of them have an integrated Lightning cable to save you from needing to remember to bring an extra cable with you each time you want to charge your iPhone on the road. This portable charger by Iceworks does, and it also comes with a generous 5,000mAh capacity, a reasonably fast 2A output and a compact design. Not bad for a little over £20!
10. Olixar Alpha Universal Premium Metal Stand - £17

This stand isn’t made just for the iPhone Xs, but it will still do a great job holding this particular phone aloft. The stand is made from metal in a design reminiscent of Apple’s own products, which seems wholly appropriate for the company’s latest design triumph. Pick up this stand, and you’ll have a convenient way to keep an eye on incoming messages and notifications. Your significant others will thank you!
