giffgaff

The giffgaff community has always been at the heart of everything we do. We started the goodybank in collaboration with our community to navigate the COVID-19 crisis 5 weeks back. And during this journey, we’ve achieved several milestones together and helped many communities and members in need.

Here is a snapshot of how the funds contributed are being distributed:

Snapshot of how the funds contributed to the community funds are being distributed. £1million+ total collaborative fund. 2,500+ projects supported. 23,684 meals donated.

These are the donations we’ve received so far

£8723.78 credit donations.£5196.00 donations to support communities

We’ve managed to help 2848 members in need and implemented £7423 worth of goodybags. Thanks to your ongoing support.

Your donations are having a real impact on so many lives. Here are a few stories of how some communities are benefiting from your donations.

Headway Devon

A charity that supports people with brain injuries and their families in the Exeter area. They support around 300 people every week – a large proportion are considered in high-risk groups currently and may be struggling with mental health as well as access to food and medication

How are they using the funds?

The charity is using the funds to provide practical and emotional support to these people

impact of funding
Thank you so much for the donation. We have been using the funds to implement new ways of supporting vulnerable and isolated people with acquired brain injuries, including helping them to get online and delivering sessions remotely - from organising group games of Scattergories, Zumba classes, and cookery lessons through video call, to providing emotional support by phone and delivering essential food and medication. Your support is helping us support people with complex disabilities to stay safe and well through the lockdown

Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal

This charity is based in Bristol supporting sick babies, children and their families across the South West. They support around 100 people per week.

How are they using the funds?

The charity is using the funds to help provide practical and emotional support via Family Support Practitioners.

The generous donation from the Neighbourly Community Fund will make a huge difference to the families of babies and children receiving lifesaving treatment and care in Bristol Children's Hospital. The donation will be used to support the provision of our Family Support Service, helping families to cope and providing dedicated and practical advice. Financial pressures, childcare worries and time off work, coupled with the emotional burden of supporting a sick child, is incredibly stressful at the best of times, let alone during a global pandemic. This support will help to enable our Family Support Practitioners to continue to be on hand to guide and support families through this scary time in their lives.

This is how giffgaff and the members are spreading love and joy in the past weeks.
