Giving you peace of mind for another year

Hey folks,

Last time we spoke the cost of living in the UK was beginning to have an impact on our daily lives. And now a few months on it looks like 2023 is set to bring us more challenges.

Back in April we told you that to support our members during the cost of living crisis we had gone ahead and fixed our UK prices for the whole of 2022*.

We wanted to give you the reassurance that whilst your other bills may be going up, you’d have one less thing to worry about.

Well, it’s September now and 2023 is steadily creeping up on us. We know that some of our members might be concerned about prices rising, so we’re here today to give you peace of mind for another year.

We’re pleased to let you know that our prices are going to remain fixed all the way through to the end of 2023.* That means we’re keeping your payments the same as they were way back at the beginning of this year.

A little extra cash in your pocket

Fixing prices is just one of the ways we’re able to help our members. But did you know there’s other ways you can earn something extra with giffgaff?

Payback

We’ve always been a fan of rewarding our members, we do this with Payback. Each time you do something to earn Payback points (like bringing mates to giffgaff or helping out on the community) we’ll add the points to your account.

We’ll send you an update at the end of each month telling you how many Payback points you’ve earned. Twice a year you can convert your points to cash, credit or a donation to charity.

We pay these out twice a year, in June and December. Don’t worry, we’ll send you a message ahead of time to remind you.

Just so you know, 1 Payback point = £0.01. So 500 points = £5, and so on.

Another way we help is by recommending the right plan for you based on your usage each month, even if that means you spend less.

How does that work?

Well, each month our handy supercomputer takes a look at how much data you’ve used, then it lets you know by email if you can change to a better plan.

We can save you money by switching you to a different plan that doesn’t affect how you use your phone, that’s a win in our book.

We’ve continued to work with Neighbourly and recently donated £17,000 to 17 good causes. In 2022 alone, the causes we’ve supported have collectively helped 5277 people per week. Get in.

We take a look at what data you’ve used over the last 30 days to calculate the right plan that suits your usage.

We make sure we remember past traits that we know impact your usage. Then use this to recommend the plan we think is right for you.

As we have two types of goodybags, standard, and our golden goodybags, members on a golden goodybag will only ever be recommended other golden goodybags.

Of course, if you feel that you could be better off on another plan you can always change. These are just recommendations after all, the choice is all yours.

Where can I see my usage?

You can take a look at how much data you’ve used by logging in and visiting your dashboard. Just scroll down and you’ll find a banner that says ‘Recent usage’.

When do I get notified about my usage?

We’ll send you an email every month as long as you’ve opted into that type of communication. But you can always check your usage anytime from your dashboard.
