4 minute read

Being productive can be particularly difficult when you’re a student, with lots of projects going on and extracurricular activities. Distractions can affect the quality of your work, and stress can affect your productivity levels. But don’t fear, productivity apps might just be the answer.
Productivity apps can be surprisingly useful for keeping you focused and organised. From breaking your day into bite-sized chunks to reminding you of upcoming deadlines. We’ve found five of the most useful productivity apps for you to try.
Starting university this year? Check out our exclusive student SIM only deal, giving you 40 GB data for a cool £10 a month.
Todoist
Todoist is a great way to make sure all your tasks are organised and accounted for.
Organise your tasks in seconds with Todoist’s simple categorisation system, with plenty of categories to choose from, you can sort your work in a way that makes sense to you. If you’re working on a big group project, use the app to delegate tasks and use the simple display system to see exactly who in your team is doing which task.
You’ll also get productivity visualisations which can help you stay on track. You’ll be able to see where you’ve done well and what you still need to work on.
Forest
Forest is a way to avoid distractions on your phone.
If you find yourself easily distracted by social media apps and mobile games, Forest could be the app to solve your problems. When you open Forest, you can plant a tree. As long as you leave the app open, your tree grows. But, as soon as you come out of the app, even if you don’t close it down entirely, your tree starts to wither.
The app acts as a visual incentive to stay on task. You can grow multiple trees at once, so you’ll have an entire forest to show for your productivity if you stay focused for an extended amount of time.
Plus, when you spend virtual coins in-app, you’ll be planting a tree in real life as well! Forest partners with Trees For The Future to help protect the environment.
Evernote

Keep your schedule and documents up to date using Evernote.
Evernote lets you keep all your tasks and due dates in one place so you can manage your time efficiently. Keep all your important notes and deadlines in one place, and access them across multiple devices.
You can sync Evernote with your other apps like Calendar, Google Drive and communication apps like Microsoft Teams to make your work process as smooth and seamless as possible.
If you have a big project coming up, you can even save important web pages, PDFs and articles for easy access when you need them.
Coggle
Coggle is the perfect app for brainstorming and collaborating on group projects.
Coggle lets you create flowing mind maps so you can easily see how all your ideas connect and grow. Start in one place and branch out, or have multiple start points and connect everything up later, whatever works best for you.
You can also collaborate in real time using Coggle. If one of you makes a change, it instantly appears for everyone else. Coggle saves every change you make, so if you want to go back, you can pick a new starting point from the version history.
Notion

Notion lets you collate all your working documents together in one place.
Notion gives you the ability to create documents, workflows, projects and many more things all in one place. You can filter however you like: by due date, who the task is assigned to, or what kind of task you’re looking for. Notion makes it easy for you to customise your virtual workspace.
Notion has a ‘drag and drop’ system. If you need to add something, whether it’s an image, document or something else, all you need to do is share it with the app, or physically drag it if you’re using a desktop. That way, all your important documents are easily accessible and all in one place.
