BlackBerry services (BIS) include BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), BlackBerry (push) e-mails and BlackBerry Internet.
If you have a BlackBerry 10 device, you get access to these services automatically, but you will need to have a mobile Internet allowance. If you have an older device, you will need to purchase a BlackBerry add-on for £2.50 at the same time as you buy a goodybag in order to get access to BlackBerry services.
To get the £2.50 BlackBerry add-on, you first need to get a SIM card and activate it online. If you already have an active SIM card, you can purchase the add-on from the top-up page in combination with a standard goodybag. If you already have a live goodybag with an BlackBerry add-on, you can purchase a second one, making it start right after the current one expires.
How to set-up your BlackBerry for BIS?
Take a look at our interactive guides for setting up and using your BlackBerry:
Can I use a BlackBerry on giffgaff without buying the add-on?
If you have a BlackBerry 10 device, then you will not need this add-on. If you have an older device, you will only be able to use your BlackBerry for standard calls and texts and Internet, you will not be able to use any of the BIS services without the Add-on.
Will the BlackBerry Add-on work if I am abroad?
Yes, however roaming on the BlackBerry Add-on will be restricted to 10MB per day.
